CJON Writing Mentorship Program

Make this year the year you finally write for publication!

The CJON Writing Mentorship Program will make it happen.

Get your byline published in a respected peer-reviewed publication that is read by more than 36,000 nursing colleagues, other healthcare personnel, and pharmaceutical professionals.

  • Learn about publishing from a specially selected nurse with publishing expertise.
  • Receive support from ONS publishing and library staff.
  • Establish yourself as an expert in a specific clinical topic.
  • Earn a reward of ONS products and services.
  • Receive points toward oncology nursing certification renewal.
  • Be recognized in the ONS awards publication, at an ONS Congress reception, and in a letter to your employer.
  • Advance oncology nursing to improve patient care.
  • And do it all from your home or office!

The CJON Writing Mentorship Program is application based. Mentor/fellow dyads are selected to work together on an article for publication. Papers must be submitted to the journal for consideration within six months. Fellow applicants must:

  • Be ONS members.
  • Be direct caregivers of any educational level who have never before published an article in a peer-reviewed journal or published a book chapter. They may, however, have published articles in their SIG, chapter, or hospital newsletters.
  • Have basic computer skills and access to a computer.
  • Complete an application.
