ONS Journal Oncology Nursing Forum Achieves Top Impact Factor

The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) is pleased to announce that the Oncology Nursing Forum (ONF) is again ranked first for impact factor (2.83) among 106 journals in the nursing category according to the 2014 Release of Journal Citation Reports with Source: 2013 Web of Science data. The impact factor measures the number of times that articles within a particular journal are cited, thereby measuring the impact that they have on the literature.

The Thomson Reuters journal citation network Web of Science is the world’s leading citation index with multidisciplinary content from almost 11,000 journals in 237 disciplines of the top tier international and regional journals. Only about 10-12% of the most influential in the fields of science, social sciences, and arts and humanities are selected for inclusion in the Web of Science.

“Being recognized as the number one nursing journal is a source of great pride to me as editor and is a reflection of the high quality of the papers we publish and the outstanding work of our authors, reviewers, and publishing staff,” said Anne Katz, RN, PhD, editor of ONF.

ONS is a professional association of more than 35,000 members committed to promoting excellence in oncology nursing and the transformation of cancer care. Since 1975, ONS has provided a professional community for oncology nurses, developed evidence-based education programs and treatment information, and advocated for patient care, all in an effort to improve quality of life and outcomes for patients with cancer and their families.
