ONS Experts Will Review and Update Mosby's Oncology-Specific Nursing Skills

Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) experts have been selected to review and amend 76 oncology-related skills in Mosby’s Skills, a comprehensive, combined online reference product and competency management system. The work is being done in collaboration with Elsevier, a world-leading publisher of scientific, technical, and medical information products and services.

“We commend Elsevier for collaborating with organizations such as ours to continuously expand and improve its educational materials,” said Elizabeth M. Wertz Evans, PhD, RN, MPM, CPHQ, CPHIMS, FHIMSS, FACMPE, ONS executive director of professional practice and programs. “We look forward to collaborating and developing the best possible Mosby’s Skills product for nursing professionals.”

Designed for healthcare nursing professionals, Mosby’s Skills combines a powerful skills and procedures reference product with convenient competency management system functionality. More than 1,300 skills are featured within the areas of adult and pediatric and specialties such as perioperative, maternal/newborn, neonatal intensive care, respiratory care, oncology, and others. Mosby’s Skills is part of Elsevier’s Mosby’s Suite, an online solution that provides training, education, skills reference, and support at the point of care.

“Equipping nurses with the most accurate and updated information is of paramount importance when it comes to delivering direct patient care,” said Barbara Nelson Cullen, vice president, strategy and content development, Elsevier. “We value feedback and input from organizations known for their expertise. ONS’s review of Mosby’s Skills will help ensure that the oncology-related skills offer the best content in the industry.”

ONS joins a list of well-known organizations that have collaborated with Elsevier to develop and review areas within Mosby’s Skills, including the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses.
